The official opening of the long awaited Tweetsie Trail is finally here. Health officials investigating increase in salmonella cases


The Northeast Tennessee Regional Health Office is investigating a sharp increase in salmonella cases.According to health officials, 19 cases of salmonella have been reported in the area since August 7th. A total of only 25 cases have been reported all year. Health officials said salmonella is often underreported, and there could be many more cases that have gone undiagnosed.The health department is investigating if there are any common links between the patients.Patients are asked about food ... Snakes and bear lead Rock Springs Elementary to close playground, outside areas


A Sullivan County school closed its playground and outside areas today after multiple reports of wildlife on school grounds.  Rock Springs Elementary School sent out a letter to parents saying a black rate snake was found in the school and three black rate snakes were found outside the building last week.
