The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says a St. Lucie County man was caught with nearly 300 stolen sea turtle eggs.The FWC says they received a tip the man was on Diamond Sands beach taking the eggs. Officers responded to discover a disturbed sea turtle nest and 55-year-old James Odel McGriff of Riviera Beach to have a total of 299 eggs in his backpack.     A Johnson City man was arrested Saturday after police said he assaulted his father with a hammer.According to police, Robert Collins, 25, attacked the victim, choked him, hit him with a hammer, and then smashed a kitchen window.Collins was charged with one count of aggravated domestic assault and one count of vandalism.He's in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.Copyright WJHL 2014.
