Weekend Sports Anchor

Jake Young

Jake comes to the Tri-Cities by way of the cold, white North of Ohio. He was big into sports throughout his childhood and made the decision to be a sports broadcaster in the 8th Grade. That led him to the nationally recognized E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University where his passion really took off. Whether working on an award-winning high school football highlight show or the nationally televised OU football coaches show, there was always a sports story to chase.

After graduating from OU (you can graduate, but you never truly leave Athens), Jake became a Southerner for the first time, moving to Augusta, GA, to work for the CBS affiliate there. He covered high school, college and pro sports of all kinds including that little golf tournament they're known for across the world. Three years later, he's ready to trade in the Masters for Bristol and everything else in the Tri-Cities.

In his spare time, Jake likes to watch and play baseball and football, listen to country music, binge watch TV shows on Netflix and take his thoughts and comments to Twitter (@itsjakeyoung). He also plays a mean game of Battleship, so watch out.
